The natural fondness to eat out and socialize gave birth to a distinct restaurant concept to two friends – DENNIS MARIANO and DENNIS NAKPIL, founders of Dencio’s Bar and Grill.
Armed with a new restaurant concept of “bringing the BARRIO to Metropolis” and the passion for cooking, the founders decided to serve Filipino dishes in a comfortable and relaxing set – up. The full ambiance of a barrio was translated into a garden setting dining areas for those guests looking for a different dining experience.
The final touch to bringing the barrio to the metropolis was the name DENCIO’S – the traditional Filipino name to the two friend’s name – DENNIS. A truly “pinoy” concept that will be a first in the Filipino market.
Eventually, the first branch was opened in 1991 in Katipunan, Quezon City.
In June 2004, Dencio’s Bar and Grill was acquired by Pancake House Inc., a 100% Filipino owned publicly listed restaurant chain under the management of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer MARTIN P. LORENZO.
With the recent acquisition of Dencio’s, the new management is faced with bigger challenges of reintroducing the brand to an “All new attitude of an old time great.”
The first indicator to focus on by the new management is to improve customer satisfaction levels by promoting the unique taste of Dencio’s food offerings. Standardization of menu items is also one of the top priorities ensuring each serving will be served in consistent presentation, volume of servings, and “off-the-stove” hot plate quality.
