Penang Hill: Undoubtedly a Unique Experience

Penang Hill - Chibog.com

Malaysia has a rich culture that surrounds its country. A true representation of the yin and yang, it balances its natural wonder and pristine beaches with modern skyscrapers and buildings.

Aside from its wonderful shores and landmarks, one of the best places to go in Malaysia is Penang Hill. Up there, you can escape from the tropical heat of the city and find a fusion of sights waiting for you. At its peak you can find an amalgam of cultures represented in their way of life. Temples of different religions are only minutes away from each other, and “Little India” is just across Chinatown.

But Penang Hill’s multi-cultural character is reflected especially in their gustatory fare. The combination of the native Malaysian taste with Singaporean, Chinese, Thai, Indian, and Western flavor makes Penang Hill’s food fare truly rare and as rich as its origins. From its classy restaurants to the hawker food stalls, you can taste the right mix of the sweet, salty and spicy in its different chows: from the Penang favorite nasi kandar, satay and rendang, to its creamy coconut milk-based desserts and drinks.

But why go to Malaysia to taste all these mouth-watering cuisine? Here in Manila, you can have a taste of Malaysia at Penang Hill restaurant. Offering authentic Malaysian-Singaporean fare, Penang Hill gives you an entirely different dining experience – just like what you can have in Malaysia.

Enjoy its savory and succulent dishes done in unique Malaysian style. The distinctive taste of Penang Hill’s selection, from its appetizers to viands to desserts, is truly different from the usual fare, yet still right for the Filipino palate. And its wood-inspired interior and paintings depicting famous sights up the hill makes you feel you had been transported to an amazing gustatory treat right at Penang in Malaysia.

If you want a truly unique dining experience, come to Penang Hill at The Promenade in Greenhills and at the Podium and have your fill of a different kind of food fare, Malay- Singapore Resto . For reservation tel. 7253527 +639223384377

Sizzig Tofu?!!

Tofu Sizzig

Yes thats right! sizzig tofu(tokwa). There’s a canteen type restaurant with a grocery named Goldies in the Pasong Tamo extension road, right after Nissan Mantade, they serve filipino foods, like lumpiang ubod, kare-kare, kakanin, etc. But one food on the menu cought my hungry eyes, the Sizzig tofu, una ayaw ko din maniwala, tofu as sizzig?! helloooo! no way!, pero sabi ko sa sarili ko “kailangan ko matikman yan”, and so I did. After my order arrived, totoo nga! sizzig tofu nga! Its like the pinoy version of the Tofu Steak but the smell of you tipical sizzig.

The taste was great! I enjoyed eating it, just add some seasoning, parang pork sizzig na! sarap!

Sizzig Bangus at Jollibee?!

After a long day making ikot sa mall, syempre I have to eat, I passed by my favorite fast food, Jollibee, and what do you know, they have a new rice meal, it’s the Sizzig Bangus. I like the idea, eating sizzig without the guilt, fish kasi, “healthy”. When my order arrived, the arroma of the sizzig was mouth watering, smells like pork sizzig, looks like prok sizzig.

I think you will like this meal, pero the downside lang, medyo konti ang serving, medyo bitin ang sizzig, for the price it’s not bad, but if they plan to add more sizzig, I don’t mind paying more.

CYMA

Category: Restaurants
Cuisine: Greek
Location: Greenbelt 3

This resto is fairly new here in Greenbelt but if the long lines and the full tables are any indication — business must be really good! We’ve had several attempts to eat here but only managed to finally try it out today– for a late lunch at 2pm! Mind you, the place was still quite packed at this time. The resto was filled mostly by families out for a nice lunch. As I looked around, the place seemed to be filled with happy diners munching away on ribs… lamb chops, huge servings of salads and great looking desserts.

We had a hard time choosing what to order. Everything looked delicious on the menu. We decided to try the Chicken Souvlaki (grilled chicken kebobs) and the beef stew. Both were good! :D

We are definitely coming back to try the Japanese eggplant mousakka and the Bifteka (greek cheeseburger) as well as the lamb chops which based on observation seems to be one of the best sellers.

The place is quite pricey but servings are generous and can be shared. I heard the Boracay branch has cheaper prices… ;)

OPA!

Jollibee Pancake Sandwich

Jollibee Pancake SandwichA new addition to the Jollibee breakfast meal, the Pancake Sandwich. Its Jollibees twist of Mcdonalds Sausage Muffin with Egg, but this time instead of bread, they use pancakes as buns, galing diba?! With a sweet tasting sausage patty and the sweetness of the pancake equals a sweet breakfast food. So if your into sugar intake counting, this meal will give you a sugar rush for sure. Pero masarap parin, can’t wait for breakfast at Jollibee again…
